Diego is a 2 year old sheltie/Golden mix and would make a great companion for any family with older children. He
is a very high energy boy and would not be a good dog for first time dog owners. We call him a "high maintenance"
boy due to his energy level. Diego is currently in formal training classes with his foster mom and has proven to be
extremely intelligent and quite a fast learner. He is happiest when "working" and being physically challenged.
Diego will need a special home to channel his energy and keep him active and learning. He would make a great agility
companion or jogging partner. Fenced yard is a must and a training contract is required.
Krystle is a 10 year old female double merle sheltie. Unlike many double merles, Krystle appears to have very good
hearing and vision. She is a little pudgy at 20 lbs and should be closer to 15 lbs as an ideal weight. Krystle
needs a companion who is home most of the time and able to let her out frequently. She anxiously awaits the perfect
retirement home which would preferably have another dog her size from which to learn the routine of the home.
Peach State Sheltie Rescue requires at least 6 weeks of obedience
training for shelties under the age of 4 or on a case by case basis at the director's discretion. Puppies under the age of
one year will require an extended training contract of no less than 12 weeks. Only positive reinforcement trainers
are approved to work with our shelties.
